It is a well known fact that any kind of school that you are going to go to is going to be an expensive endeavor for you. If you want to go to college on the cheap, you are just plain out of luck. There was most likely never a time when college (which is by its very nature an elective course of study) has not been an expensive thing to do in life. If you are thinking of going to college for fun, you might just want to go hang out at a college campus and tell people you don’t have a major yet. Partying might just be the most expensive major of all.
However, if you are going to college with the intention of taking on a profession and a set of valuable skills, you have a lot of different options available to you. For one, you could always time travel back to when you were a baby, give your parents your current life savings and detailed instructions on what to invest in and when. Or you could do the infinitely easier (although far less cool) thing, and just apply for scholarships. Just do not make the classic mistake that a lot of college students make, and apply for two or three scholarships that you think you can get.
You really have no Earthly clue how many scholarships might be available to you unless you dig deeply into your research. For most people, the idea of getting a scholarship is the kind of thing which only happens to nerds and jocks. Unless you are a surgeon with a ball, or can do calculus in your head, you might think that you have no chance at all. Fortunately for you, there are tons of different scholarships which fit almost every ethnicity and all kinds of backgrounds (such as clubs you may have been in).
