Your Education and Your Mindset

The mindset of getting an education is one that a lot of people are not born with. Technically, nobody is really born with the mind to think ahead of right now. But between seeing the examples of their parents and going to school, a lot of children learn it fairly early on. The problem tends to happen when a person does not learn about delaying their gratification and being able to fend off boredom. These are both critical skills, no matter what sort of workplace you may eventually end up in. But they are especially critical if you are only going to perform menial tasks in order to make your living. However, if you can delay your gratification for a longer period of time, you do have the ability to rise above the level of doing nothing more important than saving the time of the more affluent members of society.

In order to achieve a mindset of delayed gratification, you have got to escape from living in the moment. You must think about what will result (the effect) if something happens (the cause). When it comes to thinking in terms of causes and effects, the poorer people tend to do very badly. However, the more you think in terms of causes, effects and how you can bring these things about, the more wealthy you can ultimately become in your life. A lot of that starts out by becoming a more educated person, and studying instead of having fun in the moment.

Granted, it can be extremely hard for you to escape the moment and its temptations. Just be aware that when all is said and done, getting more of an education and pushing yourself into a future oriented mindset is going to do a lot of things to help you out later in your life. When you have a plan for your future and you really work to make it happen, there are very few things that you can not do in this world. It is just a matter of pushing through the temptation of doing fun things, and studying.
